How do you choose cushions for a sofa?
Begin with the sofa color, but do not try to match the cushions perfectly to its shade. A combination of related tones and one contrasting color looks much more interesting. On a light sofa, combine cream, terracotta, and muted olive. A dark sofa gains lightness from paler fabric and a small pattern. Mix textures too: smooth cotton, a soft weave, and delicate linen. Use two larger cushions as a calm base and treat a smaller one as an accent. They do not need to be symmetrical, but they should share one detail, such as thread color or a similar shape. Leave enough space for the sofa to remain comfortable. Before buying, place samples together or add your selected options to the HomPulse moodboard.
